Labour Parliamentary Research Academy

Programme Description

​

The Labour Research Academy is a free short training programme offering an introduction to the essential skills required to work in parliamentary politics.

​

Experienced Labour politicians and activists will share their insights and expertise on a range of topics, including:

​

  • Parliamentary research

  • Legislation

  • Parliamentary scrutiny

  • Parliamentary campaigns

  • Political strategy

 

Successful applicants will commit to attending five online training sessions and a half-day in-person training event in Edinburgh in June 2024.

​

At the end of the programme, you will use the skills you have gained to produce an assessed piece of written work in order to earn certification.

This programme would be suitable for those seeking to upskill for a career change into parliamentary work, for recent graduates or to researchers looking to reskill.
