Announcement graphic_edited.jpg

Four years ago local members supported me to become a Member of the Scottish Parliament. Representing our party, our city and her people has been an honour and a privilege. I have given the job absolutely everything. I have earned a reputation as one of the hardest working parliamentarians in Scotland. I am now asking for your support to let me continue this work on behalf of our city of Dundee.

My Track Record

It is up to all members to pick the candidate best able to win this seat for Labour - to fight for Dundee and for Labour
values in Parliament.

Over the last four years in Parliament and around Dundee I have:

  • Served as Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance, leading on our budget positions and taking the fight to the SNP on their handling of the public’s money.

  • Led the party’s policy development work having been asked to write the 2026 manifesto

  • Spoken in the chamber 672 times – in the top 8% of all MSPs

  • Worked as Deputy Convenor of the Parliament’s Finance Committee using my training as an economist to hold the Scottish Government to account

  • Assisted thousands of people with their concerns following roving surgeries and house visits

  • Delivered change for hundreds of people left languishing on waiting lists by securing NHS procedures

  • Established the highest media profile of any city politician.

I have been at the front of Labour campaigns in Dundee West for decades. From delivering my first leaflets in the 1987 general election campaign at age of 8 years old all the way to helping to lead our 2024 campaign delivering a huge swing to Labour and helping to kick out the Tories.

All of this local work is vital to both serve and earn the trust of voters. But we can only change Scotland with a change of government and a new direction with a Scottish Labour government. I firmly believe that we can and must deliver.

I work every day to deliver that election victory. To make it happen we have to win here in Dundee.

I am the only candidate with the profile and drive to win here for Labour.
